Positioning technology of the UWB RTLS solution allows real-time vehicle information exchange with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) on the assembly line in the production site and check the vehicle position through monitoring.
Although there were issues at the production site due to factors obstructing the UWB signal, Geoplan's engineers were able to demonstrate their abilities and strive to provide a reliable service for vehicle tracking through correction algorithm technology so that they can come within the positioning error range.
The reason why it was possible to create a reliable UWB environment and showcase the performance at the smart factory site was thanks to Geoplan’s experience and trial and error over the past 10 years.
Our Role
Hyundai Heavy Industries Group's Construction Equipment Division (Hyundai Genuin, Hyundai Construction Equipment, Hyundai Doosan Infracore) was recognized for its UWB technology, and installed locators on its assembly lines and incorporated Geoplan's real-time positioning technology using UWB smart tags.
Hyundai Genuine established a UWB RTLS solution on its assembly line in Ulsan Plant that produces industrial vehicles (forklifts).
It established a smart factory that controls the overall process, which includes real-time tracking of construction equipment and industrial vehicles using UWB, and which improves of production quality by providing flexibility and real-time production information of the production plant.
Products Incorporated in the Project
Through the GeoSpace real-time monitoring system, information is exchanged with facilities in each process in real-time, contributing to production/quality improvement.
– Tag ON I/F : Scans work instruction number and transmits TAG ID and mapping information.
– Process entry/exit information I/F : Transmits IN/OUT information of the defined area to MES.
– Tag OFF I/F : Transmits Tag OFF information after scanning tag ID and checking vehicle information.
Client Information
Hyundai Genuine is an intermediary holding company in the construction equipment sector of the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, with Hyundai Construction Equipment and Hyundai Doosan Infracore as subsidiaries, and it is expanding its own business field that sells hydraulic parts such as MCVs, transmissions and cylinders
